Your homes tend to be relaxed and cozy and full of things that have meaning to you. Organics might start to hate the word cozy because so many people have used it to describe your home. But to most of you, cozy is good. You have a great visual eye, so the bones of your home will always be beautiful while the details (pile of papers, books, newspapers, etc.) might be forgotten or not seen because you see the whole forest, not the messy leaves and trees. And since you have trouble letting go of things that have a personal attachment — even if it isn't useful, particularly beautiful or attractive — your struggle with clutter never seems to end. But rest assured, order can prevail as long as it is of your own device. Organic means "to develop order gradually and naturally, without being forced or contrived," which we take to mean, you'll get there on your terms.

When it comes to home and life, some of you guys are considered the misfits of the world, the disorganized spacey creative goofballs epitomized by Phoebe Buffay from “Friends” or klutzy Susan Mayer on “Desperate Housewives.” Others, most often Organic Structure (NFJ), are relatively organized and can run an enviable tip-top household, it's just not your first love and the details of it can overwhelm you at times. I know, it’s annoying, but your quest to make the world a better place does bring you in line with heroes such as Luke Skywalker and possibly “The Dark Knight Returns” Batman. Plus you get the nicest Gossip Girl, Vanessa Abrams, but even better you get Carrie Bradshaw which will annoy all fashionistas out there regardless of their type. But Carrie is the perfect example of an Organic Freedom (NFP) — she never backs up her computer until it crashes and when her building is turning co-op the only collateral she has are her shoes.

If any of this sounds eerily familiar then you are probably Organic. Whether you love a good party or would prefer a quiet night at home, read on to see if you are Organic Structure or Organic Freedom.

Organic Structure (NFJ)

Organic Structures (NFJ) are much better at the planning necessary to run an efficient household than their Organic Freedom counterparts. It's just easier for you because you love structure and getting things done. You tend not to feel settled until a plan for the day is in place and have no trouble cobbling together dinner and coordinating activities and appointments. You are sensitive and compassionate and understand people's motivations sometimes even before they're even aware of them. And while you love a good heart-to-heart, you are likely to incorporate one within your schedule rather than have it spontaneously occur as it might for an Organic Freedom. Organic Freedom (NFP)

Organic Freedoms (NFP) are capable of planning especially in order to succeed in the work world, it's just not what lights their fire. So at home it's much harder for you to coordinate cleaning, meal planning, kids activities, etc. Unless you are able to devote yourself full time to your home, it's a difficult juggling act (and even then it can be exhausting). Sensitive and empathetic, you love a good heart-to-heart and are drawn to conversation. You are more flexible, playful and spontaneous than your Organic Structure friends. You are the kind of person who would okay a "mental health day" without a second thought. Read What's Hard & What's Easy.
