Your Time Saver Is Not My Time Saver

A Time Saver for Some, Anxiety Provoking for Others

Our planned tip for this week was classic morning time savers like making your kids lunches the night before, picking out your outfit the night before, to getting up earlier, to pre-programming the coffee maker so your coffee is ready when you wake up. These are all great ideas, and frankly they work for most types to some degree or another. Funs who are into fashion might balk at doing it the night before, as on Fun told us, “Because what I wear for the day depends on how I feel in the morning!”

Frankly I think the morning time savers have more to do with whether you are a morning person or not. I’m not sure how that shakes down according to personality type, but since my husband and I have more energy at night — we also share the same Pixie Organizational Style (Organic Freedom and Smart Freedom) So we usually get whatever we can get ready the night or sometimes week before — except for the coffee.

I don’t do it because it takes all of a few seconds to make some and I’d also rather have a Nespresso latte or tea, not conducive to night before prep. But my husband always has a pot of coffee brewing first thing and so I asked him why he had never prepped it the night before because neither of us can form full sentences until after 10am. He told me that he had tried to program the coffee maker the night before and it kept him up all night waiting to see if it would work, something akin to not sleeping very well the night before an early morning flight because you’re always subconciously worried about oversleeping.

Okay, so yes I do believe this might just be some kind of strange anxiety of my husband, but to me it was another example of finding organizational solutions that make your life easier and ignoring the ones that don’t, not matter what the reason. But if you do want to try a coffee pot you can program the night before, click on our coffee pot image and buy it through us!
